StableUsed for sarcastic emphasis, aesthetic vibes, or to make something seem fancier/more special than it is. Wrapping a word in sparkles (โจwordโจ) is the text equivalent of jazz hands. Also used sincerely to indicate something is beautiful, magical, or special.

Beige Flag

Beta

Big Yikes

At PeakThe second most iconic Italian Brainrot character. A crocodile fused with a WWII bomber plane. Has a fictional rivalry with Tralalero Tralala. Kids yell it on playgrounds like a battle cry. The name follows the Italian diminutive "-ilo" suffix pattern.
Bonesmashing
RisingAn extreme looksmaxxing practice (myth) where people hit their face or jaw with hard objects believing it will reshape their bone structure through micro-fractures. It does not work. It can cause real injury. It's body dysmorphia dressed up as self-improvement.
Bop
StableA really good song. 'This is a bop' = 'this song is great.' Simple, effective, enduring. Also can mean to dance casually ('bopping to the music').
Boujee / Bougie

StableUsed to describe something that has the qualities or vibes of something else. 'That's villain-coded' means it has villain energy. 'Disney-coded' means it feels like something out of a Disney movie.
Common W
StableUsed to say that someone or something consistently wins. 'Common [name] W' means this person reliably does great things. The inverse of 'Common L.'
Cooked
StableDestroyed, ruined, done for. Can refer to a person who's in an unrecoverable situation, or someone who just got absolutely humiliated. Also used for exhaustion or being overwhelmed.
Cool Beans
ResurrectedAn enthusiastic way of saying 'cool' or 'great' that originated in the 70s-80s and has been revived ironically. The irony has now folded in on itself โ some people say it genuinely again.
Dead / I'm Dead
StableSomething is so funny you've figuratively died from laughing. 'I'm dead' replaced 'LOL' and 'LMAO' as the go-to way to express extreme amusement. The skull emoji (๐) is the visual version.

StableDirect message. A private message sent on social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, etc.). 'Slide into the DMs' means sending someone an unexpected private message, usually flirtatious.

StableJustifying a risky, spontaneous, or questionable decision by framing it as necessary for your 'life story.' If life is a movie, you need interesting scenes.
Doomscroll
StableThe act of continuously scrolling through bad news or depressing content on your phone, unable to stop even though it's making you feel worse.
Down Bad
StableDesperately attracted to someone or in a pitiful state of longing. Being 'down bad' means you've lost all dignity in pursuit of someone's attention or affection.
Drip
DecliningFashion, style, or an outfit that looks exceptionally good. Having 'drip' means your outfit game is strong. Replaced 'swag' as the go-to fashion compliment.
Edging (Meme)

Fried
StableExhausted, mentally depleted, brain not working. Similar to 'cooked' but with more emphasis on mental fatigue. Your brain has been fried like an egg.

StableFor what it's worth. Used when offering an opinion or piece of information that may or may not be helpful. Peak 'I'm just saying' energy. Another elder-internet classic.
Gas
StableSomething that's amazing or hype. Also means to hype someone up ('gassing them up'). 'That song is gas' = 'that song is amazing.' 'Stop gassing him' = 'stop hyping him up.'
Ghosting
StableCutting off all communication with someone without explanation. No texts, no calls, no social media interaction. You just... disappear like a ghost.
Girl Dinner
DeadA low-effort meal made of random snacks, cheese, crackers, and whatever's in the fridge. Not a real 'dinner' by any traditional standard. Went viral as a relatable concept.
Girl Math

Grindset
StableShort for 'grind mindset.' The hustle culture mentality of working constantly, sacrificing sleep, socializing, and happiness in pursuit of success. Usually appears as 'sigma grindset' and is now mostly used ironically.
Groovy
ResurrectedOriginally 1960s-70s slang meaning cool, excellent, or enjoyable. Has been revived by Gen Alpha/Gen Z either ironically or genuinely โ the line is intentionally blurred.
