Lowkenuinely

Definition

A portmanteau of 'lowkey' and 'genuinely.' Means to express something sincerely but in a casual, understated way. Coined by TikToker @cammmmmm22 in November 2025. Spawned an entire trend of stacking more words into the mashup (see: Lowkirkenuinely, and increasingly unhinged variants).

Translation for Parents

Your kid combined 'lowkey' and 'genuinely' into one word because apparently two separate words was too many syllables. 'I lowkenuinely love this' means 'I truly love this but I'm being chill about it.' Merriam-Webster has already acknowledged it. This is where language is going. Just... go with it.

Examples

Brainrot:

โ€œI lowkenuinely don't know what to doโ€

English:

โ€œI genuinely have no idea what to do (but I'm being casual about it)โ€

Brainrot:

โ€œLowkenuinely that movie was fireโ€

English:

โ€œI truly, sincerely thought that movie was greatโ€

Your kid will cringe

This one's new enough that using it will get a reaction, but not new enough that you'll sound current. You'll sound like a parent who reads HuffPost articles about teen slang. Which... you might be.
