Plot Armor

Definition

When someone survives a situation they shouldn't have because they're the 'main character' and the story needs them. Originally a TV/movie criticism, now used IRL for people with incredible luck.

Translation for Parents

In movies, the hero never dies because the plot needs them. Plot armor is that protection. In real life, if your kid barely avoids getting caught doing something, they say they have 'plot armor.' It's luck with a narrative framework.

Examples
