Yeet
Declining⏳OutdatedDefinition
To throw something with force and reckless abandon. Also used as an exclamation of excitement. One of the most enduring slang terms of the late 2010s.
Translation for Parents
It means to throw something really hard. That's literally it. 'Yeet the ball' means 'throw the ball far.' If your kid yells 'YEET' before throwing something, they're giving you fair warning. That's more than most generations offered.
Examples
“He just yeeted his phone across the room”
“He threw his phone across the room with surprising force”
“YEET!”
“(Exclaimed while throwing something or doing something exciting)”
Cringe Score
Your kid will cringe
Yeet has been around so long it's almost retro. Using it now is giving 'I was cool in 2018' energy. Which, for parents, is practically current.
